

Deacon Edward Lyczak
Deacon Ed Lyczak was born in Chicago, IL., the youngest of six children. Deacon Ed met his wife Mary Ellen in 1955, while seniors in high school. After graduating in June of 1956, Deacon Ed joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa for 18 months. He and Mary Ellen planned their wedding "through the mail", and married between their birthdays on October 18, 1958.
On April 16, 1983 he was ordained a permanent deacon in the Chicago Archdiocese by Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, and was assigned to his home parish of St. Victor Church in Calumet City. In 1988, after serving 22 years on the Calumet City Fire Department, he and his wife moved to Bremen, IN., and was assigned to St. Michael Church in Plymouth, IN.
In l998, after being "Snow Birds" for 3 months in Spring Hill, sold their home in IN., and moved to Spring Hill permanently. Deacon Ed was assigned to St. Frances Cabrini where he continues to serve as a Permanent Deacon.
Deacon Ed and Mary Ellen have one son Joseph, who lives with his wife of 19 years, Karen, in Knoxville, MD.
When not at church Deacon Ed enjoys gardening, cruise ship traveling, and a good game of ping pong.
