Rev. Henry Hemmerling

Fr. Henry L. Hemmerling was born in Elmwood
Park,
New Jersey. He received a bachelors
degree in philosophy and classical languages from
Seton
Hall University
in South Orange. He then attended
Immaculate Conception Seminary and was ordained to the Priesthood on May 28, 1966. In 1972, Fr. Hemmerling
graduated from Fordham
University
with a Master’s Degree in Religious Education and in 1974 he
received his Master’s Degree in Theology from Princeton Theological
Seminary.
As part of the Diocese of Metuchen, he served as pastor of Sacred
Heart Parish in South Plainfield, St.
Magdalen de Pazzi Parish in Flemington and Most Holy Redeemer Parish
in Old
Bridge.
Father Hemmerling was also a member of the Commission for the
Continuing Education of Priests, the Commission for Ecumenical and
Interreligious Affairs, and the Commission for Sites and Boundaries.
He has served as a Mentor
for Permanent Deacons of Hunterdon and Warren Countires in
New Jersey and has also been a member of the
Diaconate Advisory Board.
After faithfully serving the people of the Diocese of Trenton and
Metuchen,
New Jersey for almost thirty five years, Fr.
Hemmerling retired in 2001 and relocated to Spring Hill where he
lives in Timber Pines. He generously gives of his time
assisting with confessions, officiating at funerals, celebrating
Masses and helping in the Religious Education program. In his
spare time he is involved with the Timber Pines Garden Club as well
as the Timber Pines New Jersey Club. He also volunteers at St.
Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop and works in the Food Pantry.
